Analytics and advertising cookies are turned on when you arrive on singler-law.net, and stay on until you switch them off. This page lists what we use, what each one does, and how to change can change these settings.
Our approach
Analytics and Marketing are on when you arrive, and stay on until you switch them off.
Regardless of what you choose:
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We run no advertising or retargeting pixels today. The Marketing category loads nothing at all. It exists so the control is already there if that ever changes — and we would update this page and reset the banner before it did.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honor it automatically. Everything beyond strictly necessary stays off, you do not have to touch the banner, and we will not interrupt you with a pop-up to tell you we noticed.
The limit of this model: if you switch a category off after arriving, nothing in it loads on your next page view — but it does not undo what was collected before you switched it. If you want that deleted, ask us at [email protected] and we will. [Is this required, and how do we do that. . .I don’t want to create an obligation of none exists legally].
Accepting and rejecting are equally easy. The banner offers "Accept all cookies" and "Reject non-essential cookies" side by side, the same size and the same one click..
Why the button says "non-essential" and not "all." If you reject, only one cookie remains: singler_consent, which records that you rejected. Without it, we would have to ask you again on every page. Nothing else survives — no analytics, no advertising identifier, nothing that follows you anywhere.
You can change your mind whenever you like through the Cookies Settings link in the footer.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honor it automatically. Nothing beyond strictly necessary loads, you do not have to touch the banner, and we will not interrupt you with a pop-up to tell you we noticed.
What we use
Strictly necessary · always active
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| singler_consent | Stores which categories you allowed, so we do not ask again on every page. First-party. Contains no identifier for you, only your choices and the date you made them. | 12 months [This should be for whatever the statute of limitations is for CIPA] |
The web fonts and the charting library also fall in this category, because the page cannot render without them. Neither sets a cookie. Both are delivered from third-party networks — Google Fonts and the Cloudflare CDN — which means those networks receive your IP address as part of the ordinary request for the file, the same way any website request works. We do not send them anything else, and they are not used to track you across sites on our behalf.
Analytics · on unless you switch it off
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics. Counts visits and shows us which pages and services people read, so we know what is worth writing more about. IP addresses are anonymized. | Up to 24 months |
Once you switch Analytics off, the Google Analytics script is not requested on your next page view and these cookies are not created. Google Consent Mode is updated to denied the moment you switch it off, and is set to denied from the start for any visitor sending a Global Privacy Control signal.
As of the effective date above, no Google Analytics property is configured on this site, so nothing in this category loads for anyone yet. Once one is configured it will run from the moment you arrive, unless you have switched this category off or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
Marketing · on by default, but loading nothing
We are not running advertising, retargeting, or cross-site targeting pixels on singler-law.net. There is no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads remarketing tag, and no advertising identifier of any kind, so this category currently loads nothing whatsoever. The switch is enabled by default, which means that if we ever did add one it would run unless you had switched this off — so if we add one, we will update this page and reset the banner so that everyone is asked again rather than letting it appear silently.
Things we do not use at all
No session replay. No keystroke or form-field recording. No heat-mapping. No chat widget. No social media tracking pixels. Links to our profiles elsewhere are plain hyperlinks and set nothing until you click them and arrive at that platform, where their rules apply.
Something a cookie banner does not cover
The Legal Vitals check-up records your answers and score for research, and it does this without any cookie and without identifying you. It carries no advertising click identifier and no value derived from your IP address. Because it does not rely on cookies, it is not governed by the switches described on this page.
What that record contains, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted are described in the Privacy Policy. If you would rather we did not record your answers at all, the simplest answer is not to use the check-up.
Do Not Track
There is no consistent industry standard for the "Do Not Track" browser signal, and we do not respond to it. We do honor Global Privacy Control, which is the signal that has an agreed specification and legal recognition. You can learn about it at globalprivacycontrol.org.
Third parties collecting information across sites
None, on this site. No third party is permitted to collect information about your activity across other websites through singler-law.net. If that ever changes, this section changes with it, and the banner resets.
Changing your mind
Open Cookies Settings from the footer, move the switches, and save. Turning a category off stops the associated scripts from loading on your next page view.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so is outside our control and may affect how the site behaves. Most browsers explain how under Privacy or Security in their preferences.
Withdrawing consent does not delete cookies already on your device — clear those in the browser — and it does not undo anything collected before you withdrew it.
Changes
If we add a cookie or a category that materially changes what is covered here, we will update this page and reset the banner so that you are asked again rather than carried over on an old answer. We check this page against what the site actually loads at least quarterly.
